Filter was finished in 2022. Now it's enjoying its time in multiple festivals.

Filter is a thriller about a beautyCam/filter heavy user, Xiaomei, who cannot extricate herself from the digital world. However, the unexpected visit of her mother forces her to face reality. Then inconceivable things happen....

But what is the reality? Who are we without the filter? What is our real appearance? The anxiety and confusion of contemporary young people fermented in the digital space. Will it quietly reform who we are in real life?

About Pearl

Pearl is Assia's USC Thesis project.

It is a fairy tale about an old lonely puppeteer, Sam, who saves a 9-year-old wounded mermaid and helps care for her, and loves her as a father. However, when her wounds heal he struggles with letting her go back to the ocean.
